Visualising the Animal Exhibition in Workington

On Thursday 14th March I volunteered to help set up the Visualising the Animal exhibition in Workington. The exhibition consisted of four pillars with four boards on each side with each displaying a different artist. Initially this was set up in Workington Plaza which is the centre of the shopping district, unfortunately due to damaged caused overnight by vandals, we had to move the exhibition the next day to an empty shop. This would have been just to store the work, however we decided to use the windows in the shop to display the work.

This ended up being a very quick changeover, as well as the exhibition looking good in the empty shop windows.

Volunteering for the Carlisle Photo Festival and spending time with the people who run the organisation is extremely valuable for my professional development. Both for my own photography and future projects such as Stopbathreviews. Previously volunteering when the photo festival was in Carlisle and recently with the Visualising the Animal tour, I have learnt about the requirements of pulling off such events, and how Stopbathreviews can join forces with the Photo Festival to create future events.
